Author of the Week: Bart J Gilbertson

Well March is ending and April is coming! Hopefully with a little more spring weather (at least for us here in Chicago!) The author who starts off April is Bart J. Gilbertson and his book Deathbed and Breakfast: A Pookotz Sisters Mystery.

Deathbed and Breakfast is about the death of Richard Forester, a retired CEO. Richard and his granddaughter spend the night at Pookotz Bed and Breakfast, where people from his past are popping up. When he's found the next morning dead, everyone is a potential suspect. Now Edna and Mildred Pookotz along with a local sheriff, must find out who murdered Richard.

Check out this excerpt from Deathbed and Breakfast:

"You're looking a bit pale Richard," Sheriff Blackwood noticed. "Are you okay?"

Penny spun around and looked up at her grandfather. He had beads of sweat on his brow and his breaths were shallow. "Grandpa?"

"Yes," Grandpa Dick responded. "It's just been a long day. I really could go for a good meal and some rest though. I'll be okay if we can get me over to the Bed & Breakfast."

"Are you sure you're alright?" Steve echoed.
